Wow, wow and wow! I have never seen real cowboys and cowgirls in action, before let alone stopped to consider the skills needed by both horse and rider. Sunshine, dust and hoofs in a setting of beautiful rustic cattle pens, the setting being Tom Wilkinson’s family farm in Lincoln. Seeing the students and horses turning on a sixpence, stopping from gallop in an instance, gently nudging their way into the herd and carefully persuading the chosen beast to separate from the others and then skilfully manuovering them to the chosen destination…was amazing … And yet again, all under the careful and may be slightly mischievous eye of Sean Coleman. I unfortunately missed most of what Sean was saying as I was busy clambering on roofs, racing round trying to grab shots between the bars and generally trying to catch the action wherever I and however I could. Having said that, when I have been in earshot I am ever impressed by his fountain of knowledge and experience, and frankly you couldn’t wish for a better teacher.
