My photographic journey into the world of all things equine introduced me to Peter Maddison-Greenwell and Danielle Lawnickak, the founders of “El Caballo de España”, whose Classical dressage demonstration at Bolsover Castle I was lucky enough to shoot. Peter and Danielle have built their lives around their amazing stallions and are leading experts in their field of traditional classical dressage. Again, like Mia Rodley, the relationship they have with their stallions is breath taking. Having the opportunity to capture the beautiful Alamillo and Invisor, their skilful movements in such an amazing Riding House was just the perfect fairy tale. Bolsover castle’s Riding House with magnificent roof and viewing galleries is one of the earliest to survive complete in the UK and a landmark to British Equestrianism. If you ever have chance to watch one of Peter and Danielle’s demonstrations at Bolsover, you will feel like you have stepped back in time, and I promise you won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait for my next opportunity to see them and their stunning boys in action again.
